How a Polarimeter Works?
1. Optical Measurement Principle
The PSV-413L utilizes polarized light transmission to analyze stress distribution in transparent materials. As light passes through the sample, stress-induced birefringence causes measurable changes in the light's polarization state, which are captured by precision optical sensors.
2. Manual Operation Process
Operators place large size samples (up to 410×310mm) on the polarizer and rotate the calibrated analyzer manually. The system visually displays stress patterns through interference colors, allowing real-time observation of both magnitude and direction of stresses.
3. Data Interpretation
Built-in 1/4 wave plates convert birefringence into visible color patterns corresponding to stress levels. Users can qualitatively assess stress distribution through the viewing screen and quantitatively determine the retardation values.
